Monument Chemical in Brandenburg, KY is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Payroll Specialist.

DUTIES

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for assisting the HR department in payroll processing, data processing and other human resource adminstrative tasks. This includes but is not limited to:  Review hourly employees' web-based timed sheets in PeopleSoft to verify correct coding of hours and ensure supervisor's approval before processing. Correct timesheet when necessary and maintain a log sheet recording all changes as well as a copy of the corrected timesheet. Process payroll in TimeClock Plus according to corporate payroll instructions and by the payroll schedule deadline. Upon corporate confirmation of each payroll period, update hourly payroll report to include union dues, garnishments, gross wages, and total hours. Complete monthly OT reports for distribution to unit management. Enter and/or review annual vacation allotments in TimeClock Plus at the beginning of the calendar year. Understand and execute payroll rules contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreements. Understand, implement, and maintain TimeClock Plus system. Coordinate and complete new hire payroll and benefits orientation. Track employee paid and unpaid leave (STD, LTD, FMLA).  Administer the employee recognition program and provide corporate payroll with gift reports for tax purposes. Administer tuition aid, relocation reimbursement, and fitness program reimbursements. Troubleshoot employee issues with payroll, deductions, direct deposit, etc.  Process Wage Progession increases for hourly employees.  Process Service Awards for employees.  Complete Employment Verifications. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

HS Education or equivalent, some college preferred.  Payroll certification strongly preferred. Five (5) years' experience in a related administrative function. Two (2) or more years in Human Resources or Payroll strongly preferred. Union manufacturing experience strongly preferred.   Good organizational, time management, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer knowledge and skills, preferably with Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft HRIS. TimeClock Plus experience strongly preferred.
