Monument Chemical in Brandenburg, KY is seeking qualified candidates for a Production Engineer.

DUTIES

  • Lead the operation of reactive distillation projects.
  • Understand and work with plant utilities.
  • Work with the team to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product and chemical processes.
  • Work closely with Technical Advising and plant personnel within a union environment to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance personnel to ensure that all product specifications are met.
  • Assist the Engineering department in developing cost effective projects to optimize production.
  • Prepare and enhance operating instructions and process technology packages.
  • Troubleshoot plant operations when actual operation does not meet the expected operation.
  • Generate reports that detail and summarize a specific proactive efforts. Reports include mass balances, process data analysis and de-bottlenecking proposals.
  • Develop and maintain product specific schedules to meet production demand.
  • Ensure production is running efficiently by working with plant personnel, technical advisors and data analysis.
  • Actively participate with operators in the field to help identify process and safety improvements.
  • Communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel at all levels within the organization, when needed.
  • Help to optimize the disposition of the waste (water and organics) generated in each project, in order to improve cost saving.
  • Participate in area Process Hazard Analysis studies as well as actively participate in area process safety improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering required.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years' work experience in a process engineering role or similar engineering role.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills.
  • Good organizational, time management, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Must have good problem-solving skills using Statistical Process Control (SPC) as a tool.
  • Must be willing to participate in our 24/7 production facility call out policy, when needed.
  • Ability to function and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Delta V experience is a plus.
  • Potential to rotate to other Monument locations.
